On the morning of May 7, the first 8200TEU LNG (membrane-type) dual-fuel container vessel "KOTA OASIS" built by our group's New Yangzi Shipbuilding for Singapore Pacific International Lines (PIL) departed from the wharf of the shipyard, delivered and put into operation.
This vessel is the first of the four 8200TEU LNG (membrane type) dual-fuel container vessels "0-class" series built by our group for PIL. This type of vessel is a new generation of green, energy-saving and environmentally friendly container vessels jointly developed and built by Shanghai Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI) and our group. It boasts flexible operational capabilities, capable of handling both feeder routes and ocean-going routes. Its performance indicators, including speed, deadweight tonnage, and the number of loaded containers, all exceed contractual requirements. The vessel measures 260.0m in length overall, 45.6m in moulded breadth, 24.7m in moulded depth, 12.5m of the design draft , and 15.5m of structural draft.
This type of vessel is the first batch of container vessels equipped with GTT membrane tanks in our group’s container vessel construction history. The fuel tanks are also suitable for ammonia fuel loading and the vessel has obtained the corresponding ammonia-ready class notation as an LNG dual-fuel container vessel . Equipped with Wartsila’s LNG dual-fuel gas supply system, the vessel meets the world's most stringent emission requirements (compared with traditional fuel container ships, it can reduce 20% of carbon, 85% of nitrogen oxides and 99% of sulfur oxides), and EEDI meets phase 3 requirements in advance.
On the morning of April 25, our group and PIL jointly held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel. The God Mother, Ms. Cindy Chang, named the new vessel "KOTA OASIS", cut the string and tossed champagne and boarded the vessel for a visit with the guests.
On April 30, "KOTA OASIS" was signed and delivered under the witness of representatives of all parties.
